Hi to everyone, DuncsinDevon here! I'am in the process of completely re-decking an old int canoe and I'm wondering if there would be any merit in changing the centerboard housing to a dagger board. Any ideas? Many thanks in advance

Less water in the case, smaller length of joins to make and keep waterproof, loads on the case are always in the same place so easier to engineer, there are a bunch of benefits to daggerboards in general...
As to Canoes in specific I haven't done that level of surgery on one so can't comment.

Hi Dunks in Devon, I build kick up cassets for the daggerboard in all my boats & they do save a lot of potential expensive damage to both the foil & boat from hitting the bottom. Phone me on 01243 430253 most evenings for a full lowdown of how to do it because its too much info to write here. Hopfully I can send you a few dimensions, drawings & pictures in time too, cheers, Rob Michael.
