The International Canoe

Does anyone have experience of sticking pro grip non slip (the neoprene stuff) on the dance floor? I put some self adhesive strips on last year which were effective, but they have peeled off at the edges. I propose to replace it with one sheet going from gunwhale to gunwhale, so there are less edges to peel and may improve my grip further.
Is it more robust to stick it down with glue rather than relying on the self adhesive backed type, and what sort of glue - presumably some type of contact glue?
Any hints on how to avoid rucks, bubbles or a sheet of pro grip sticking to itself rather than the boat would be much appreciated!

i put it in the cockpit of an ok 2 years ago, it is still there but the edges are rarely if ever trod on. after advice i pre-cut the backing into strips and started in the centre going out each side with a paper roller to get all the bubbles out before going to the next strip.

Hi Phil, I supply & have been fitting a superb non slip mat called Speed Grip for several years to all the latest Canoes now, a lot lighter than pro grip & if put on correctly will stay on. I can do the sheets up to 1200 x 1400 which are just big enough for the back deck. I've e-mailed you the details. Cheers, Rob Michael.
