ICF Canoe Sailing Commission 2009 – 2012 Draft development Plan
Purpose: The purpose of the Commission is to administer, sustain and promote the discipline of Canoe Sailing on a global basis under the auspices of the ICF. The Commission members will all have a collective responsibility in carrying out this general purpose in addition to specific responsibilities to report on at Commission meetings.

Development Plan 2009-2012
Tasks for completion in the immediate future 1. To establish a meetings/conferencing procedure to facilitate communication between Commission members. 2. To identify and approve specific roles for members and to agree a review procedure. 3. To agree targets for 2009-2012.
Proposed Tasks for 2009-2012 1. Promotion To increase the number of countries with active canoe sailing fleets eligible for International competition. 2. Technical Rules To monitor and collate feedback following the 2009 Technical rule changes. To prepare for rule changes in 2011 if required. To review the Rules Change Procedure in the light of the 2008 consultation. 3. Fixtures To arrange International fixtures 2009-2014 by establishing a rolling programme of events up to four years in advance. 4. Participation To facilitate the sharing of technology and hardware between countries to encourage fleet growth. To address the issues arising from the IC variants to maximise participation in international events. 5. Publicity To ensure positive and consistent publicity and information on Internet forums and websites. 6. Budget To approve payments from the Commission budget to ensure cost-effective operation.
