There was some interest in Machete at the Worlds.
I think the boat demonstrated that it was competitive.
People felt they would feel willing to build a boat to this plan, but were unwilling to pay for the plywood kits.
Then there were those who wanted to build a hull simplified to make sheet construction simple out of foam and carbon fiber.
Because everything is based on 3mm plywood, this would mess up the whole design.
So I offered to draft a set of external frames that could be used to build the boat out of whatever you wanted to put inside them.
I haven't heard from anyone in 6 months, so I wonder if I should bother and what if anything someone might be willing to pay for use of the design.

Hi Steve
I'm interested in building an IC. So when there is any help from you with a kit, plans or forms, it will be great. I'm more used to work with plywood then with carbon, foam and resin. I live in Switzerland, so plans may be easier.

Lots of talk in Australia now the worlds are fast approaching, lots from outside the class too, which is good.
I've been telling the outsiders that there's a limited number of hulls in Oz and the available ones will get grabbed quick. I've pointed a few at the Machete and a few have asked me for the MCR files. Most outsiders seem to favour composite over ply (heathens
) but hopefully we can accommodate them all.

Scott McInerney has ponied up for the cut file.
So someone is doing something.
I am developing a female building jig which will be to the outside of whatever planking the builder chooses.
So composite panels can be pushed into place and tabbed together.
