I have a mid-1960s cold-molded mahogany Avalon IC, US #102. I realize that it will never be competitive. She was designed to an earlier rule, is overweight, has a fixed sliding seat carriage, etc., etc. Nevertheless, she sails fine, and if I keep her, I plan to make some changes this Winter, like replacing the pivoting centerboard with a daggerboard, the “antlers” with a more convenient tiller extension, etc. Is there any interest in this boat in her original configuration? . . . or nearly so. I DID have to put an inspection port forward between the centerboard well and the foredeck bulkhead
