Insurance

I'm having a little trouble finding the required third party insurance. No one in the US seems to want to cover my boat while it is in Australia.

I was hoping the regatta organizer might have coverage for the event that competitors could buy into but no reply from that front yet.

Any ideas?

Hi Chris,
I have been looking into it, but so far I haven't had much success - I've sent an email to the group that insured us in the UK aswell. As soon as I find a way ahead i will post here and let you know.

Who are the other US sailors using?

Whilst I keep hunting for an insurance solution, can I suggest that anyone struggling for regatta insurance in Australia contact Robert Masterman insurance http://www.bobmast.com.au/contact-us. Whilst they don't advertise that they offer a specific solution, they do offer tailored insurance and may have a product that will cover the transport and racing of your boat. Let me know if they can help.

Meanwhile I'll follow up some other leads.

Please get your entries in, as I need the info to get stuff like shirts and trophies etc.
I'd also email Rod ASAP to get the ball rolling on Insurance - with Finns, 49ers, 470's Opimists, Canoes, Lasers..... all having Worlds, it's going to get real busy real quick for the Sail Melbourne Staff.
