Day one up....
IC http://www.travemuender-woche.com/en/ra ... st/16.html
AC http://www.travemuender-woche.com/en/ra ... st/14.html

First blood to Chris Maas (USA, Maas 2?) with 1,1,6,
then Colin Brown (GBR, Morrison 1) 3,2,2
Alistair Warren (GBR, Warren 2?) 2,3,3

one point separating first three...

Apparently only two races sailed today, and a lot of DNCs in the second one, including such as Colin Brown, Steve Clark and Phil Robin.
The (only I think) discard kicked in,
Chris Maas still leading, 2,1 today,
Peter Ullman (GER) 2nd, 1,2 today,
David Clark (USA) 3rd, 4,3. today.
Simon Allen and Mark Goodchild scored their best results in the last race, so maybe it was windy, although that wasn't the forecast.. Simon is running away with the IC OD at the moment, with 5 wins out of 5, whilst Mark has 4 2nds and a 3rd in that fleet.

Yes it was windy after a delayed start. The race Chris beat Peter in went down to the very last tack Peter having led round the final mark to the finish, very close stuff.

Race 6 results now up, so half way through the series.
Chris M and Peter U got 1 and 2 respectively, starting to build a lead from the rest. David Clark, Alistair Warren and Phil Robin look to be the most likely other medal candidates, but a long way to go yet.

[later]
Race 7 - Chris M 1, Alistair W 2, Peter U 3.

Light airs again today started 9-10 knots and dropped. Monkey off the pace in light airs can't get enough power from my sails.

What's the number of drops from here on I'm guessing an extra drop will come into play at some stage once the last few heats a sailed?
Cheers

Forecast looks ok except for gusts over 25knots, not many boats went out so I'm guessing it was blowing hard.... but that just a guess from the other side of the World

Now for someone from the regatta to fill us in.... or someone else from another part of the world to have a guess thats as bad as mine.... lol

On the wind forecast on the site they've omitted to mention the units they're measuring wind speed in which makes it a bit more complicated... But it seems unlikely its light. Other classes have a good few DNCs too. If they get two more races with results like that then things could get very interesting indeed...

I think the speed is in knots, makes sense its windy if allot of other classes have DNC only the brave mad and or those with allot to loose go out in the tough stuff

Just one race to finish the worlds today. Big seas and tons of wind I led the Ic fleet taking a port tack start and focused on making every tack and gybe. Other boats did close up to me at times but i always had a margin so was able to ease off and take it easy.
There was some damage to boats Willy Clarke broke his spreader bracket but hung on to 2nd. A rig was broke on a German boat as the safety boat was giving assistance and a rudder ease lost withthe stainless shaft sheered off.
