The Luebeck Yacht Club also offers the Travemünde Week 2011 a great sailing venue for media and spectators - the grandiose TRAVELERS SAILING ARENA - directly into the mouth of the Trave!
During the Travemünde Week presents the LYC-team race by a total of 45 to 60 minutes length - divided into two semifinals and one final round of 10 to 15 minutes in length with classes such spectacular catamarans or skiffs. Start every day around 17:00 clock for the official race in the Bay of Lübeck.
The race will be transferred from commentators and PA system - easy to understand for spectators and with a lot of response from the media, where the audience how the maneuvers of the crews will be offered in direct sight.
The race plan provides in-TW days following classes:
Saturday, 23 July: Moth.
Sunday 24 July 18-footer.
Monday 25 July: Europe.
Tuesday 26 July: Moth.
Wednesday 27 July: International Canoes.
Thursday 28 July: 29er/29erXX.
Friday 29 July: Tornado/F18.
Saturday, 30th July '49.

So we have some extra races on the river for Wednesday?

Can our friends from Australia confirm that they have arranged for the New York Challenge Cup to be shipped to Germany for the Worlds at the end of the month?
The time limit for entries has now passed and I note there is an Australian entry who I assume will be defending it.

There will be some extra races for some volunteers to make some promotional work for our class.
Commented sailing in direct sight for spectators.

A few boats have been out for the past few days ahead of the worlds. in light airs David Clarkes boat points very high but suffered downhill. Chris Mass is very fast downhill and Phill Robin on Scarlet somewhere between the two. In the windy stuff with big waves I look fast on Monkey but not had a proper line up and am much slower in the light stuff.

Chris, results are on web reasonably soon so don't worry about that. Reports and information v sparse on the official web site so all you can give us about conditions and who's quick and the rest of it will be very welcome... Seems as if it might have been lightish wind yesterday...

Monday was very light three races sailed with big holes and shifts. too light for me on monkey so was a long way from the sharp end to say who was fast, but it looked tight close racing.
Tuesday woke to no wind, after several delays the start was at 14:30 in around 18 -20 knots and quite big seas. Several boats broke but Chris m and peter fight close at the front with myself fighting Willy and David Clarke to round off the podium

Can someone at the Worlds pass onto Arne that there has been an attempted delivery of the New York Canoe Cup to Ecky's place... that someone over in Germany will need to follow up to ensure the Cup makes it to the regatta on time
Cheers
H.
