Foer those with trophies, can you indicate which trophy you have, what year you won it, and for what event.
Thanks.

Hi
I have the Ken Davies memorial trophy (a half model of a canoe), I can not remember what event it was for, perhaps Weston last year?

Alistair, If it is the one I won in 2008 and Colin Newman several times before that, then it is for one of the National champ races. Or at least it was when I won it!

Thanks to those who have responded on the forum or by email. I am still trying to locate the whereabouts of the following trophies, so please search your cupboards and attics:

Eric Freeman Trophy - a wooden model of IC with sail. Awarded for 2nd place at Nationals.

Tritonelle Trophy - A shallow Silver Cup about 30cm tall with rather distinctive handles. On a wooden base.

City of Plymouth Trophy - I haven't seen this for along time. It's a silver coloured shield mounted on a turquoise stone base, about 15cm tall in total. Not the prettiest of trophies.

West Country Trophy - A small silver cup about 20cm tall, on a black base.

Nautilus Cup/Alan Emus Trophy - I have no details on this.

Genetta Trophy - Hasn't been seen for some years. I can't recall exactly what it looks like, but I think it was a silver cup.

Any information on the whereabouts or a desription of the trophies would be appreciated either via this forum or via email.

Phil

City of Plymouth Trophy was missing when I first went on the committee. No idea of it's whereabouts.

The Nautilus Cup / Alan Emus Trophy is a silver plated cup about 10-12" high as I recall. It was a keepsake cup won at the Nationals (when one could afford such lavishness) by Alan Emus, and donated back to the class to replace the Nautilus cup which had gone missing. (Not a new problem, then...)

The Genetta Cup is a small silver cup probably about 8-9" high and I think a little battered. It has been missing before, then turned up at the back of someone's cupboard. But has since got lost again, probably for five years.

I have a full set of photos of the Nationals trophies take at Dale (the visit before last). I also have some prints of trophies taken a long while back which I can post (if you email me your address). Easiest too if I put the Dale pictures on a CD.

Hi Mike (Cecil!)

I seem to remember that The City of Plymouth Trophy was re-assigned as the Junior trophy. The last time I can recall it being won was by a kid called Robin ? in Flying Khazi, and that he sailed at Grafham Water. I may have that completely wrong, but it's an avenue to explore!

Are you getting the sailing bug back yet?

Regards

George (Claude!)
