Re: Info sort re K 196

Hi Rit, as far as I remember K196 was new in 1987 just before Plymouth Worlds of that year. It is a Pyrhana. Bob or Steve Austin may know more of the history. It may have belonged to one of them, but if not they had numbers very close to it. There was a batch built in that year, 3 of which were char...

Re: Sliding Seat

I would like to see the printed copy of the newsletter still in existence, so you can show visitors without having to find a computer. Also useful to for the doctor's /dentist's waiting room etc. In fact I think we should go back to receiving the printed copy by default.

Re: GPS onwater training tools

Useful on occasions maybe. But not that useful, unless linked with other data for analytical purposes. How is the poll going on the Worlds' spacing going? Who will decide and when?
All the best

Re: Magazine Article?

Regarding the new rules and IC/DC.
So far I have not been officially notified of any rule changes or what to do about them. People who don't use a computer would not know. Just because the rules have changed doesn't mean you have to be enthusiastic about them, especially if you voted "no".

Re: More World Championships

Firstly, are we really locked-in to having the Worlds in 2011? I'm sure it could be easily changed to 2010, as we are to hold it as part of Travemeunde Woche, and it would make no difference at all to the venue hosts. 2 years and 8 months to me seems more reasonable than 3 years and 8 months between...

Re: More World Championships

Hi Christian if you recall at the skippers' meeting at the Worlds in 2005 you were very keen on reducing time between World Championships. When I brought up this matter at the skippers' meeting in 2008 at Mcrae you were not keen and seemed almost to have forgotten what you said in 2005. Nobody at th...

Re: Europa Cup 2009

Johann Elfstrom told us that the 2009 Europa Cup would be on Lake Vattern. which is a few hours by car from Goteborg. Presumably mid July as per most Europa Cups.
For southerners (UK) there is a scheduled ro-ro/12 pax service from Tilbury to Goteborg (DFDS Tor Lines).

Re: Probabilities

Hi Colin. sorry you had such a blustery time at Portland. You mentioned that a third of the Moth fleet could cope with the heavy stuff, which I think is quite good really. I think in the IC fleet the proportion might be similar, and our boats are probaly x time easier to sail. I am no meteorologist ...

I have started enquiries about shipping costs of ICs to Worlds. Last time we went we used Peters & May, so I have asked them for approx cost. I also asked for a quote from Wallenius Wilhelmensen who run large Ro-Ros round the world-- just incase anyone decides they want to take their vehicle with IC...
