I have a few spare jibs, an overlength sliding seat, and a carriage (which needs putting back together).

Re: Possible newby

Try coming across to Sheppey on Sat 11th Sept where there will be one or two ICs for the round Sheppey race starting about 1100. Or Wilsonian SC, Hoo, Kent on some Sundays where you may see an IC and it's owner.

Re: Hoo r u?

Thanks Gareth, obviously a very hard fought race, but we didn't have to sail on the Sunday.
See you at Sailboat, or somewhere else. The open meetings are a long way from Hayling this year!

Re: doing something for charity

Hello Karl,
you need an International 10 sq m Sailing Canoe, sometimes known as an IC. You should be able to average 8 knots in a breeze, so should cover the 80 miles in a long day.

Re: Portsmouth number help for IC in Oz

I haven't really got time to write a thesis on the subject, but I have found that a non spinnaker Canoe does ok on W-L couses in lighter winds because obvously the assy boats have to sail twice the distance downwind depending on wind strength. S.
