if only

It is with regret that I wont be at these Worlds. I few things will stop me making it. 1. I no longer have a new rules IC (my boat was written off. oh the Hobie didn't even get a scratch) 2. No IC activity in Australia = no practise 3. No IC activity in Australia = no one to share a container with t...

Re: USA 244

Hi Robert, Yes I borrowed USA244 (Mayhem) from John Kells to sail the 2010 NA (thanks John, Willy and David). Mayhem is a new rules IC design and built by John Kells, its probably the shape hull I would have come up with had I not seen String Theory... The only thing I would change was how John clea...

RRS 49.1

An interesting discussion on the DC Designs thread on Sailing Anarchy has me thinking we need to tweak the class rules to add: 13. f) The use of a sliding seat as defined above is permitted, this alters RRS 49.1. The part the "this alters RRS 49.1" is the critical part for those who sail in mixed fl...

Re: Less than a month to go 'till the nats. What are you doing

Hi Geoff,

It all depends on how deep in the water you go... Its ok at the moment I wont lie and say its really warm its is cooler its far from freezing... Ive sailed up Port Stephens way in colder water. The top lay at the moment can be rather warm as it is heated by the sun

Re: Less than a month to go 'till the nats. What are you doing

I've done some things really novel.... I went sailing :) other than trying stop the hiking plank leaking and a float no major work is planned although it would be nice to have the new hikng plank finish. The sail was the first time on the IC in nearly 12 months for me its been a long time between dr...

Re: Running rigging on Nethercott

Hi Brandon,
One of the grat things about IC's is they are all unique, if you can take a photo of what you have Im sure there are many who can point you in the right direction.

Cheers

Re: 2014 Worlds

@ Simon, my family is well thanks :)... yes less than 3 years away. As for having the World more often that all that would happen is more Worlds where Australia doesnt compete. We struggle and cleary this time around should be enough proof that we just cant get the numbers to travel as often as we w...

Re: Proposal for increase in minimum weight to 55Kg?

Firstly I am a self taut amateur builder, I have built some nice boats never had a boat at minimum weight (but very close) I haven't hit the 50kg just yet but for good reasons. 1. I reused my old (very heavy) hiking plank from my Nethercott. 2. I reused my old very heavy boom from my nethercott. 3. ...

Re: Shipping the NY Cup

Chris, It was sent as registered mail from Australia to Germany it appears it got there ok (eventually) I packed it in bubble wrap and then it bwas wrapped in a heavy cardboard. I figure the important thing is for it to be traceable so we know where it is throughout its journey from A to B. The best...

Hi all, Yes I have just received a confirmation email saying its delivered.
