219 now sold

GBR219 has now gone to a new home in Norfolk.

Very sad indeed to see her disappear up the road after 9 years of ownership. Hoping to have another canoe in the future though.

GBR219 price drop/open to offers

Hi All, I had previously advertised GBR219 for sale, and was asking top money as she is fast, fully sorted and in excellent condition- As I have had a couple of weeks of buying boats right left and centre, and haven't had any interest in my canoe at the price I was asking, I'm now happy to consider ...

Re: IC GBR219 For Sale

I forgot to say in the above post- she is a kevlar/foam/carbon hull with timber deck.

IC GBR219 For Sale

After much deliberation, and a little bit reluctantly, I have decided to think about selling my IC, GBR219 I have owned her for about 8 or 9 years, and carried out a big refit a couple of years ago- pics of the refit and some more of her sailing (pre-refit) at http://picasaweb.google.com/monstersail...

Re: Oxford Open - October 8th (and 9th) - Who's coming?

Well, I WAS really looking forward to coming to Oxford with 219 as my first IC open meeting. Having had the boat for six or seven years now, it's high time I got round to it... Sadly work pressures, at the last minute, are dictating otherwise. On the up side, the particular work pressures concerned ...

Re: Unbiased opinions appreciated

my tuppence worth- I am a relatively new canoe sailor, and the last singlehander I had before the canoe was a contender- I find the canoe far easier than the contender, although this is probably in part due to my weight, only 10stone- so far too light to really be any good in the contender, but bang...

I will be there with IC GBR219- looking forward to it as I've never been to a canoe open before!

Don't need accomodation as I will be staying with a friend nearby- but will join in the social frolics:)

2011 Isle of Sheppey Race

Hi,

Just wondering who is thinking of doing the Isle of Sheppey race on September 3rd?

It would be good if there was more than one other boat to race against!

Re: GBR219- Name?

Its saturday 3rd September- for me it does clash with a local regatta, but at the moment sheppey is winning, as I could do the saturday sheppey race and then back for the sunday racing locally. Likewise for me, I think the clincher will be whether there are other canoes likely to be there. Another f...

Re: GBR219- Name?

Thanks Mark! 'Something Happened' is growing on me. And after the refit she's just had, it's quite fitting for altogether different reasons. If you're interested, send me your email address and I'll send you some pics of how she's looking now? Not too sure as yet, but hoping I might be able to bring...

Re: new rules question

Hi guys, thanks very much for the responses! I'm based in Walton on Naze, Essex. Currently sailing IC GBR219, which I have owned for 6 years or so, and am gradually updating- but it's an idea in the back of my mind to build a new rules hull at some point, with the rig etc transferable between the tw...

new rules question

Hi, Can anyone offer some clarification on my probably 'wrong-end-of-the-stick' interpretation of the new rules? The following is in the 'Hull' section: "The projection on to a horizontal plane of the line of greatest beam shall be a continuous curve," and this from the 'Deck' section: "Outriggers t...

Re: missing boats

also, GBR245 is currently owned by James Hockridge, also from walton. She is listed on apollo duck, but may or may not 'actually' be for sale. I'm never quite sure. K135 was sold to the chief designer of Wally Yachts, to become a static exhibit in his collection of classic dinghies in a hangar in sw...

Re: missing boats

I have owned GBR219 for about six years- nethercott foam sandwich hull, ply deck, colour white. If this helps at all?
