Most of the fitting are either new or in excellent condition I have for sale full range of fittings, blocks, self tacking jib kit, carbon plinths, sails and carbon mast - you name it a...

Re: NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 at W&PNSA

Hi I will be there on Wednesday and ready to go for a sail pm to early evening. I need all the time on the water I can get. Looks like a good turnout for the IC's. How are the entries on the AC's doing?
Last chance before the Worlds to try out some new ideas.

Re: Tiller extension and the rudder problem

Thanks Alistair, I do have a tiller extension that floats and self centring elastic on the tiller. The longer the tiller and the further back in the canoe the rudder the bigger the problem. This problem never happened in the OD with the rudder box well forward. This season I have added 300mm to the ...

Re: Tiller extension and the rudder problem

I had been thinking along those lines as you suggest Rob but to date I have not seen any other tillers fitted with your suggestion. There is however a difference in height to make up here as the tiller extensions sits about 25mm above the tiller due to the UJ. Anybody tried this?

Tiller extension and the rudder problem

Now many of us have suffered with this problem....Following a capsize and righting the canoe you find the tiller hard over to one gunwale and the tiller extension under the canoe and jammed in front of the rudder blade. There appears to be little chance of this ending well and sailing on so please a...

Tee Foil Rudders

I have been requested as Chief Measurer of the Class to clarify the position on the use of Tee Foil Rudders and the Class Rules. Appendix 2,3 and 4 cover the measurement rules for IC's and these apply to all IC events. Appendix 2 part 10 ( rudders) states that a rudder with a hydrofoil SHALL be used...

Re: Nethercott measurement aft...

Jim, you can pick the box of templates up from Phil ( assuming he's ok with that) at Barnes or maybe Hayling, returning the templates at the nationals/ worlds. I think it desirable to have the canoe conforming to the o.d. rules when selling it on. Any help required please contact me. I think if you ...

Re: Rudder Problems

Thanks for your replies. I will get the 1000 and 1500 grades of wet and dry out and give it a rub and and polish. As for the cassette, I will check out the leading edge to as if there is any chance of it projecting below the bottom of the hull skin line. I think the cassette should be in perfect lin...

Rudder Problems

Can any of you clever folk out there please give me some advice…this is the problem. I am using a rudder blade from my last canoe GBR 319 and I had no problems with it at all. I have repainted it and have fitted to my new Maas design. Now work this one out, as soon as the canoe starts to plane the r...

Carbon Fibre Tillers

I am just about to purchase a piece of carbon tubing to make a tiller for my new Maas canoe. I am considering 25mm diameter and wall thickness around 1.5mm. I have used 25mm alloy tubing for tillers on previous canoes so any advice on carbon tube sizing is welcome.

Ullswater Yacht Club

Hi, some of you may have heard that the bridge at the northern end of Ullswater at Poole Bridge was washed away in the recent floods. You may care to look at the club web site, go to gallery and see the flood water half way up the club house windows! I regret to say a repeat of 6 years ago. Only hop...
