Do we know if Sweden and UK intend to publish their results before the ICF meeting?

I think it sounds like a worthwhile upgrade. To make Christian happy I might even post some pics!

I think two things need to happen before we'll get back on track with the nationals The first and easiest is more new DC's. We already have a few, but it will be a few months at least before the next ones come online. I'm building, Hayden is building one or more and Phil is building one. Anyone else...

I voted for the electronics, mainly because I don't see a strong point in banning it anymore with prices coming down. I don't see it as all that useful for racing though, but if others do why not?. I've sailed with a GPS a few times, but strapped it to the foredeck where I can't reach it and can't s...

I most likely won't make an easter nationals this year, but I am in no way opposed to it being held at that time. I see your argument for postponing until Dec/Jan Christian, but doesn't this leave us with few events just at the time when we possibly could have quite a few new boats and excitement in...

I take a simple view on this. DC will become IC, I think most of the active sailors are really for that. As for AC, we will welcome any prospective AC sailors with open arms. It certainly is an exciting package. But it will only catch on if there is interest. At the moment it seems there is close to...

Christian, Let me know how you go with the non self tacking jib. Like yourself I'm used to the self tacker, but I'm still undecided on what to put on the DC. Progress on boatbuilding has been a bit slow, but I'm finally able to throw some hours at it again. I'm not sure when I'll be finished yet, bu...

New York Cup going one better?

I'm jumping the gun here, but it looks like there's a real chance the America's Cup will be in shambles come January. That leaves the New York Cup as the oldest "running" sailing trophy, doesn't it? An opportunity for some cheap publicity ploys?

Yes there is a Port Stephens video, Eric Dunbar has it on VHS. But it isn't the easiest to watch, it was filmed quite far away from the action and probably from a small boat as the camera shakes a bit.

Christian, A good concept. My only thoughts are this: When you show a fleet of canoe's racing on the open water its very hard to show the speed. I borrowed a few videos from Eric (worlds in San Fran and Port Stephens) before I bought my boat. The only bits that are exciting to watch are the markroun...

I think it would be a mistake to delay the process. There has been so much discussion about this for such a long time its about time the class makes a call one way or the other. I have faith in the group put together, and as Alan said the select group of actual DC builders have given their feedback....

Can someone clear up the concept of the rule for me: 'Reliable buoyancy to give at least 75kgs wt of positive buoyancy with hull flooded shall be provided' Do we need 75kg + whatever is required to float the boat, or just 75kg as an absolute value? The question is do we just want to prevent the boat...

How about we let one of the events double up as a round of the series and the nationals? Just choosing a different one each year? Our fleet is quite mixed in terms of canoe experience and boats. I think its important that we encourage everyone to come to these events. What do we need for that to hap...

Any interest still out there on this thread? Is this a topic that should be discussed at the worlds? As great as the IC is (and the DC should be better) we need more people sailing. The cost and complexity of our boats puts a competitive boat out of reach for a lot of younger sailors. I read somewhe...
