New rules IC project opportunity

New rules IC project opportunity. Over the last year or so, for a number of reasons, I haven’t been able to progress the building of my developed ply IC design. So I guess now is the time to offer it on to someone with more time and drive than I have at present. The hull is based on the Steve Clark ...

Re: B Class Canoe Photo

Dates for 2013 Europa Cup Hi Chris, the dates are confirmed as above, ie: Monday 29 July – Friday 2 August 2013. Everyone on the IC UK email list will (should) receive advanced notice of the event in their in-box today or tomorrow. Peter McL. also tells me that the dates were confirmed at Plymouth a...

Re: B Class Canoe Photo

I came accross this article about C class canoes, I think will be able to find out more next summer in Loch lomond As I recall the C class rule on the Clyde wasn't necessarily the same as the C Class rules on the Thames, let alone Sweden... nor indeed the C Class rule in 1890 much like the one in 1...

Re: K 136 History

I think 136 is a Hawksworth, build by Chris Hawksworth around 1971/72 (I had 137 for a while, an all grp Hawksworth, that was certainly built in 1972). According to the class register of 2002 136 was owned at one time by Peter Milston. Hopefully someone will come along and fill in more info. or tell...

Re: Latest News - Sailing Committee

you have to re-register and sail off a PY of 895. This is not unreasonable as you are effectively changing your boat to a new set of rules, it is effectively is a different boat and should be clearly identified as such. We have a slight issues with GBR312 which needs to be dealt wit but otherwise i...

Re: Making a slow start

Hi Michael, Wow, Torment is looking good. It helps the motivation when a “project” begins with something beautiful – that hull is in stunning condition. My worry is that you seem to be retaining “the bacon-slicer”- the stainless strap over the carriage. I would seriously suggest that you find a way ...

Re: Proposal for increase in minimum weight to 55Kg?

Hi Jim Did you not consider using your foam to support the dance floor? That was my first plan but not being built to Razorback standards the 3mm ply+200gm black stuff needed something more beefy in the way of internals I normally expect shells with no structure in to be floppy but that one was so s...

Re: Proposal for increase in minimum weight to 55Kg?

As someone who’s attempting to build a SHC ply variant IC I thought it might be worth me adding some observations to this thread (just for the record I have, in the past, built a number of dinghies ) I must begin by saying that I reckon that with the current build it will be absolutely impossible fo...
