Development Canoe rules

Just to put this into context. The idea of revising the rules is so that we can publish them before McRae and so that by the Skipper's meeting everyone has the same information. Hi George. I'm worried. Do you "hope to die before you g-g-g-.......bonk!"

As this has been such a huge bone of contention in the past in the UK I would urge all readers to take a look at the Weight topic sent in by Steve Clark. The UK has been prominent by its absence of comment on the proposed rules so far!

Following the ICF meeting in Florida where I had the opportunity to sail and observe the American variants on the IC theme there has been a great deal of discussion about the way ahead. The BCU committee have published their preferred option - making an Appendix D in the rules to allow the new ideas...

Steady boys! My last posting seemed to generate more paranoia than it was meant to assuage! Andy first - Discuss. Discuss what? A ludicrous scenario which would only come to pass if the class died and WW3 broke out? We are not into voting on revenge rules. We are members of the BCU and as such we ar...

There are several important features of the introduction of the AC which we need to take on board when thinking about how we introduce a relaxation in the rules. Firstly we cannot legislate for the market. Someone amended an IC to carry a spinnaker - just for fun. It worked well enough for someone e...
